Fire up your BBQ, this one is a real summer crowd pleaser and super easy to whip up. The trick is to scorch the nectarines, getting just a slight hint of smokiness and caramelizing the outside while the inside still has that creamy tenderness. This recipe was born over a fire pit full of drift wood in the back yard of our south coast summer hang and it went down a treat!!Read More
I never tire of a good smoothie! This beauty makes a perfect festive mocktail. The watermelon has a lovely cooling quality, hydrating and mineralizing on a balmy summers eve. Rose has been revered for its beauty giving qualities since times of Ancient Greece and Rome and not to forget the bountiful anti-oxidising benefits of berries. To turn it into a more substantial meal, add some walnuts and a dash of almond milk for a little protein hit. Enjoy!
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp rosewater
2 cup fresh diced watermelon
2 cups frozen strawberries
½ cup coconut water
1 cup raspberries
Rose petals to garnish
A handful walnuts and a dash of almond milk (optional)
Throw all the ingredients in the blender. Blend for half a minute. Adjust to suit your taste.
I love Tabouli, its simple clean flavours make the perfect accompaniment for a summer BBQ. This version puts a bit of a spin on the classic, removing the gluten and tomatoes making it less inflammatory.Read More
I’m a little beet crazy, always have been. I love the way their vibrant rich colour and sweet earthy taste can be added to a mixture of grains forming the perfect base for a variety of salads. This recipe is a simplified version of the salad, I often throw in smashed chickpeas, other root veg, millet and loads of fresh herbs. You may also like to accompany it with a few chunks of pan- seared wild trout or salmon.Read More
