The first time I walked into CrossFit Wanderlust Bali I literally thought I had stumbled onto some kind of Hollywood film set. It was inside one of the biggest warehouses I had ever seen. Giant tyres lined the the wall. Stacks of barbell weights and kettle-bells in one corner and racks of powerlifting bars and wooden boxes in the other. In the centre was an enormous cage-like structure where olympic rings, TRX suspension bands and various other fitness paraphernalia were hanging. There was one tiny mirror adorning a wall - an afterthought really - and whiteboards with the WOD's and times of the days participants scribbled on them. There wasn't a weight machine in sight. This was not a gym for vanity. This was not a gym for mucking about. This was no "pretending-to-workout-while-I-check-out-that-guy" gym. This was SERIOUS BUSINESS and I was in HEAVEN.

CrossFit Wanderlust is the largest and most equipped CrossFit gym in Bali. The brainchild of founder and head coach Dave Driskell, it is literally the culmination of the past 5 years of his life.

Shortly after he attained his CrossFit Certification in 2011 he embarked on a 6-month backpacking journey through South-East Asia eventually ending up in Bali where, after immersing himself into the lifestyle, saw the need for the CrossFit method in the region. With not many suitable gyms in Asia, Dave was forced to be creative with his programming while traveling through many of these developing counties so he started documenting his travels on Instagram @davedriskell - and the hashtag #WANDERLUSTWODS was born.

The next few years saw Dave teaching on almost every continent on the globe as his passion for the wanderlust lifestyle continued to take him wherever the wind blew.

He eventually found himself back in Bali where he fell in love with the island all over again and decided to put down some roots.... And in 2016, CrossFit Wanderlust Bali was born.

CROSSFIT
Group-led classes by CrossFit Certified coaches. The CrossFit Wanderlust programming is scaled and suitable for all ages and physical conditions. The philosophy behind CrossFit training is an all-inclusive lifestyle change. Focusing on maximising body response, developing power, training with multiple modalities and practicing functional movements.
MOVEMENT
Movement classes teach full body awareness, mobility, balance, ring work, gymnastics, stretching and new powerful ways of full-body movements and patterns. Open to all levels and will complement other fitness programs.
BOOTY FIT
Just what the name suggests.. a class focusing on all things booty building!! An effective sequence of posterior chain exercises that will build muscle, strengthen and tone legs, buttocks, hips and thighs while also delivering essential core work. Open to all levels.
CYCLE
Burn up to 620 calories as you sweat your way through this high intensity cardio workout set to pumping music. Learn all the basic cycling moves and control your own resistance levels and sprint speeds so you can build your training level over time. For all levels of fitness.
